Call for Submissions! 

Sparrow Gallery is hosting OPENSHOW SACRAMENTO #10 Thursday, August 15, 2019, and co-producers Juliet Haas and Steve Abbott will be curating a selection of prints from Local and Regional Photographic Artists to display for a month long accompanying exhibition. 

Twenty Photographic prints will be selected from the Call for Submissions. All images submitted must be shot on color negative or black and white analog film, polaroid or an alternative process such as a tin type to be considered. Your entry is FREE for up to three images. Submit your work early!

DEADLINE extended through June 26, 2019

Submit up to 3 images through our Google form: ENTER. 

Please size your jpegs 1500 pixels on the long side at 72dpi, maximum 2MB. Name your files first initial, Last name_Image Title_01.jpeg. For example "jHaas_MarinBattlement_01.jpeg, jHaas_BookYard_02.jpeg, etc." Include your email address, first and last name, your cell phone number, an Instagram @ profile and website address, and a brief statement about your project that we can use to promote your work on social media. *Any image submitted may be used for promotional purposes throughout the Call for Submissions time period and will be credited to you, the copyright owner, on the OPENSHOW SACRAMENTO Instagram and Facebook Event Page.

Once all submissions are received Twenty Artists will be invited to hang one print each in the Annex at Sparrow Gallery downstairs at ArtHouse on R.

Artwork will be on display 2nd Saturday Opening Reception August 10 through the Closing Reception approximately Sept 4, 2019.

Eight of the Twenty Photographers who hang a print in the gallery will also have an opportunity to Present a slideshow of their photo-based project in person at the Open Show Sacramento Artist's Screening event Thursday, August 15. Invitations for submission to participate in the OPENSHOW SACRAMENTO #10 will be sent out after the exhibiting photographers acceptance notification.
